Ha Long bay photos on display in France
An exhibition highlighting Halong bay- the world heritage opened at the Vietnamese Culture Centre in France on March 31, according to the Ministry of Culture Sports and Tourism.
A photo exhibition entitled “Halong Bay, World Natural Heritage site” is jointly held by the Fine Art, Photography and Exhibition Department (under Ministry of Culture Sports and Tourism) and the Vietnamese Cultural Centre in France.
Fifty photos on display feature the beauty of Halong Bay, a world natural heritage site which has been recognized twice by UNESCO as a heritage of mankind.
Taken by both professional and amateur photographers, the photos portray the mystical beauty of Halong Bay through various angles and captured moments.
The exhibition attracted great attention from the Vietnamese community in France and French friends. It will run until April 30.
This event is held as part of campaign to vote for Hạ Long Bay as world natural wonder. Halong Bay is now one of 28 finalists in the vote launched by New Open World. In order to be included in the top seven, the country’s famous landscape must collect over 60 million votes, including a substantial number from foreigners.
Therefore, Vietnam has continuously made an effort to spread information and promote the image of Ha Long Bay both in and outside of the country. The result of the voting is expected to be made public on November 11.
